detailed version of the logo design I did for my college's art club at Florida Gateway! Our mascot is indeed a wolf. Currently trying to find a student in Graphic Design to do the typography part of the design to both this and the screen printer friendly version.
This design will help distinguish us from other clubs and organizations and I'm super stoked to be the artist. I'm also getting a very rare opportunity this semester to meet super awesome public artist Kenn von Roenn and had an awesome donation to make the course a reality. This course will include creating a public art piece for the school that will define the institution for years to come! We are debating on working with anodizing aluminum, but we won't know until lots of research and collaboration is done. Public Art is not offered at many colleges and universities, this deals with the business, public opinion, installations, public restrictions, materials, and cost side of the art world.
I'm getting to step out of my comfort zone ten fold on this project. I have next to no experience with public art, and even more so with designing a piece collaboratively. If anyone ever gets the chance to take this course, DO IT. Public Art is a huge part of voice, opinion, statement, and representation.
