It's a charcoal colored place, low color saturation, highly contrasted against the many waterfalls. The charcoal color comes from thousands of years of volcanic activity. Small streams of lava are still seen throughout parts of this vast area. The huge water pools below (I've yet to draw them) have many colorful fish that I would like to base off of large catfish, goldfish, and koi. It's also very mossy and green as you travel further down. The soil is rich as well, making it easy for plants to grow there.
The huge floating pillars are kept there by some magnetic force. The rock in these pillars contain high amounts of metal that repels itself from the center of gravity. I'll do more research on magnets but they kinda work like that-repelling magnets.
As for the waterfalls, the air around the pillars is heavy with water condensation so water is constantly draining off. They do dry up if there is no condensation; I draw the waterfalls all the time because it looks cool lol.
The temperature is on the cooler side the higher you climb, below can be warm in the sun but cool in the shade.
i really love this one...and all the explanation about the surrounding, about that world...is simply awesome x3 (when i opened your gallery, my first though was, god, i love them all OO) x3 the way you do the surroundings and also the creatures is so awesomely made...i'm just mesmerized x3
It's not a bracelet, but a medical ID band he was given by Travis (in our world.) When leaving, he hadn't bothered to remove it yet here. He later has it torn off by the halfcanter/Lead that lives in the area he's treading.
He does not wear it as part of his normal apparel, it was just for this scene.
holly crap, youve done aa lot of research on this stuff, havent ya? i like how youve thought up of the concept and explained why this is what etc. this would look great as a wallpaper or something of that sort, and i like the usage of black and white, how they constrast against each other. the blurriness in the back creates a sense of depth. love it all
