Not fun.
Here, finally, is a simple reference sheet for Zio and his color variations during the seasons. The 'Alternate' variation is a rarer melanin occurrence that may come about during any of the seasonal changes. Though it's not impossible. He is fairly neutral with colors-but has an iridescent appeal when his feathers are turned in the light (much like a rooster's.)
His eyes resemble white pearls, and is not blind. Instead of his pupil being dark because basically pupils are holes in our eyes, his are very vibrant and white-but still have the same anatomy and function as normal eyes.
He's about the size of a larger coyote, but is leaner and a tad taller. Long fur on his feet helps insulate during harsh winters. Butt fluff, and lots of it! Keeps him warm as well. c:
The plumes that are present on all Feonixes create the illusion that they are larger than what they really are. If frightened, offensive, or displaying these plumes they raise them accordingly. My main inspiration for Feonix plumes are Birds of Paradise, pheasants, chickens, and peafowl.
Zio has a slightly neurotoxic attribute found in his claws from eating a paste he is immune to. It can cause painful muscle aches and will take a considerable time to heal. If Zio is to stop eating the paste the neurotoxins will slowly wear off as his nails grow. I'm still doing a little lazy googling research to see what kind of neurotoxin his nails give off-but this is just general info.
Like all Feonixes, Zio is a MANX. Meaning he has no tail. His species does not suffer the same issues cats may contract with being a manx (shortened spine/issues with spinal cord ect.)
If a Feonix is to breed with a tailed creature, there is a chance there could be half breeds with shorter tails. This is not usually canon and these instances are very rare.
